表演藝術發展趨勢概況: 台灣篇 - 文化驅動力－國家表演藝術中心

1987年國家兩廳院成立，打開臺灣表演藝術的新時代。二十多年來，臺灣表演藝術發展，在社會自由和文化多元的助力下，長成一片繁盛花園。2014年，隨著高雄、臺中兩處新表演藝術中心的落成，宣告臺灣表演藝術將再度打開新的時代，迎向新的世紀。
臺北的兩廳院，曾經是臺灣唯一的國際級藝術殿堂；在北、中、南各有一處宏大表演藝術中心之後，可能帶來的改變和機會是多元的。一方面，表演藝術有機會更向著「地方主義」發展，帶動當地表演藝術風氣，形塑地方的美學和品味。同時，三個表演藝術中心也將透過更頻繁的國際連結、更深度的交流，引進更多國際新潮或經典劇目，並透過管道，用更多元的創作向世界介紹台灣。
